Business Customer Spotlight: Ennis Auto & Truck Parts

History

The late Byron Roberts purchased a 100-acre tract of land on the southwest side of Ennis in 1976. Byron founded Ennis Auto Salvage from humble beginnings, moving a sharecropper’s house to Ensign Road to serve as the office and using a tractor shed as the original shop facility.

By 1978, Ennis Auto Salvage was fully operational, providing Ennis and Ellis County with quality used auto parts. Nearly 50 years later, with the third generation now at the helm, Ennis Auto & Truck Parts proudly serves all 50 states with late-model, insurance-quality recycled auto parts.

In 1990, Byron’s son, Jay, and his wife, Kathy, purchased Ennis Auto Salvage and quickly began improving and modernizing the facilities. Around that same time, the internet emerged as a mainstream channel for commerce, accelerating the company’s growth. Jay and Kathy built a progressive, modern, and environmentally conscious business that provided Ellis County and southern Dallas with a cost-effective alternative to new original equipment manufacturer (OEM) auto parts.

Present Day

In 2012, the third generation joined the business as Byron’s grandsons came on board, helping propel the company into a new era of growth. By continuing to implement industry-leading operational standards and forward-thinking strategies, the company invested in a state-of-the-art 23,000-square-foot facility in January 2024. Today, Ennis Auto & Truck Parts (EATP) employs 22 team members dedicated to providing clean, tested automotive replacement parts. As a family-owned and operated business, EATP takes a personal interest in ensuring every customer has a positive experience.

Currently, EATP specializes in late-model diesel and 4×4 pickups, SUVs, and both foreign and domestic vehicles. From doors, bumpers, and interior components to engines, transmissions, and axles, EATP helps customers find the quality parts they need. They also offer extended part and labor warranties that often exceed OEM drivetrain warranty coverage, providing customers with added confidence and value. EATP utilizes the latest technology to locate parts nationwide through an extensive network of trading partners capable of sameday shipping.

TCBTX Partnership

Since 1990, Jay and Kathy have been loyal customers of Trinity Capital Bank of Texas (formerly Ennis State Bank) and consider TCBTX to be a major contributor to the company’s success over the past 45 years. The personal attention and support provided by the bank since the company’s inception have created a mutually beneficial partnership that continues to thrive. Ennis Auto & Truck Parts would not be where it is today without its longstanding relationship with Trinity Capital Bank of Texas.
